CALIFORNIA PAID FAMILY LEAVE..
CALIFORNIA PAID FAMILY LEAVE benefits are available. Funding is from increased SDI withheld from employees.
When an employee stops working or they reduce your work hours to care for a family member who is seriously ill or to bond with a new child, you may be eligible to receive "PFL" benefits.
Employers must provide a copy of "Paid Family Leave," DE 2511, to each newly hired employee, and to each employuee leaving work to care for a seriously ill family member or to bond with a new child.
CALIFORNIA PAID FAMILY LEAVE (PFL) is funded 100% by payroll deductions from employees pay checks. Benefits are paid to eligible beneficiaries.
Workers covered by the State Disability Insurance Program (and PFL) can receive 55 percent of their salary, or up to $728 a week, for as long as six weeks. The average worker will pay $25 a year into the program this year, with a maximum of $55 per worker. Fathers as well as mothers are eligible.
